Privacy Policy

1. What stays on your device
Your rig profile (height, width, length, weight, propane), your trips (names, coordinates, routes, day splits) and app preferences are stored in app-specific device storage. There is no cloud account or sync in this version. Deleting a trip or the App removes that local data; we cannot retrieve or remotely delete it.
2. Location
The App asks for location permission only when you start guidance. Your position is used on the device to show where you are on the route, announce the next manoeuvre and detect when you have left the route, including in the background during an active drive so guidance continues when the screen is off. Location is not stored beyond the current drive and is not sent to us. You can stop guidance at any time; the App then stops using location.
3. Route planning (TomTom)
When you plan a trip, the App sends the start and end coordinates you chose and your rig dimensions (height, width, length, weight, and whether you carry propane) to TomTom’s Routing API, which returns the route. TomTom processes that request under its privacy policy. The App does not send your name, device identifiers or trip history with the request.
4. Structure data (bridge heights and weight limits)
To check a route against known low bridges and weight limits, the App downloads small map tiles of restriction data for the area around your route from our static hosting. The tile request reveals which map area you are planning in, at roughly city scale; it does not include your exact points or your rig. The data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors (© OpenStreetMap, ODbL). Tiles may be cached on your device.
5. Maps and address search (Apple)
Map imagery and address search use Apple’s MapKit. Apple processes those requests under its privacy policy; we do not receive them.
6. Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
RigPath Pro is an optional subscription sold through Apple’s App Store; Apple processes payment. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase, entitlement and transaction/receipt information so the App can validate, restore and unlock your subscription. We do not attach that identifier to your name, email, rig or trips. RevenueCat’s handling is described in its Privacy Policy.
7. Analytics and diagnostics (Firebase)
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to count product events so we can see which features are used and where people get stuck — for example “first route planned”, “paywall seen”, “drive started”, “reroute”, “routing error”. Events carry no coordinates, addresses, rig dimensions, purchase amounts or contact details. Firebase assigns a random app-instance identifier to the installation; the App does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Firebase also collects standard diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version, country derived from IP address). Google processes this under its Firebase privacy documentation. You can stop analytics by deleting the App.
8. Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information and do not run an operational backend that stores your trips. TomTom, Apple, RevenueCat and Google (Firebase) retain what they process under their own policies. Local data lives as long as you keep it on your device.
9. Children and international users
RigPath: RV Safe Routes is a driving-planning utility and is not directed to children. It may be distributed internationally; the providers above process the limited information described here on global infrastructure under their applicable terms and safeguards.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy before releasing a version that materially changes its data practices. For privacy questions, use the support route below. Do not include passwords, Apple ID credentials or payment information in a support request.
