1. What Lessbyte does
Lessbyte compares the photos and videos in your library on your device and groups the ones that appear to be the same shot. It suggests which one to keep and explains why. It also lists screenshots and large videos, offers photo and video compression, and can turn Live Photos into still images. Compression is lossy; conversion removes motion and sound. A smaller replacement is saved and verified before removal of its original is requested.
When you choose Contacts to review, Lessbyte proposes only exact matching phone numbers or email addresses. It does not merge contacts automatically. You must inspect the records, create a local VCF backup and confirm before Lessbyte combines reviewed contact details and removes the other reviewed records.
2. What Lessbyte cannot do
Lessbyte can only work with your photo and video library. It cannot clear app caches, system files, or "other" storage — iOS does not permit any third-party app to do so, regardless of what similar apps claim.
Lessbyte does not permanently erase anything. Confirmed items are moved to Recently Deleted, and the space they occupy is reclaimed by iOS only once that album is emptied.
3. Your responsibility for what is removed
Grouping is automatic and can be wrong. Review each group before confirming. Automatic suggestions avoid favourites and edited items where supported; review every selection, including anything you select manually. You remain responsible for the changes you approve. Keep an independent backup of anything irreplaceable.
4. Lessbyte Pro
Optional Pro features are sold through Apple. Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region. Weekly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. A one-time purchase does not renew. Finding and clearing duplicates remains free and unlimited.
5. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the App. Use it only on devices and libraries you are entitled to use.
6. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for lost or deleted content, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the App.
7. Changes and contact
We will update these terms before releasing a version that materially changes them. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
